Falcon

Falcon

Falcon Lake runs along the Texas-Mexico border and is located 40 miles east of Laredo in the small town of Zapata, Texas.  This lake was impounded in 1954 and is known to be one of the largest lakes in Texas with 83,654 acres of water from the Rio Grande River with a conservation pool elevation of 301.2 ft. with a severe 40’ to 50’ fluctuation of stained water.

This lake is relatively shallow with slight sloping banks, standing timber, flats, points, along with old towns and even ranch settlements, which makes this lake known for catching large numbers of bass that grow big and feisty in this South Texas Lake.

Recently, in January, 2008, Falcon Lake became known as the lake that shattered the previous cumulative 4 day tournament weight in the history of the FLW Outdoors Stren Series with 110.2#
